Lowcountry, SC HOW Chapter Host Their First Event for Warriors
The Lowcountry SC Heroes on the Water (HOW) hosted their first HOW Event at the Hatchery WMA on Lake Moultrie. The chapter hosted six Veterans/Active Service Members out for a fishing trip for Largemouth Bass & Bream in Kayaks. At the conclusion of the event the chapter provided lunch to the volunteers and participates.
According to Chris Davis one the HOW Guides “We had a pretty good turnout today. It rained a little. The bite really heated up as the rain started. Most of us caught fish, then lunch afterwards.” This statement summed up the first event for the Lowcountry SC HOW Chapter. All fish caught were photographed and released to be caught another day.
The event started with a continental style breakfast at 0730 hours. Participates were provided a fishing gear, a kayak, paddle, PDF with a whistle, and some water while they were on the water with a HOW fishing guide. Some of the guides provided fishing techniques for bass only using artificial lures while other guides provide bait for bream fishing and then transaction the warrior into bass fishing with artificial lures as well. About 1200 hours the anglers returned for hotdogs, chips, and sodas.
